The Tsunami Waves Foundation was founded by star Cardinal’s pitcher, Carlos Martinez in 2015. The Tsunami Waves Foundation is an organization that helps children both here in St. Louis, and in his home country of the Dominican Republic, reach their fullest potential and enjoy life.
We, here at DELT, are huge fans of three things: St. Louis, the Cardinals, and sports. Having the opportunity to work with an organization that dealt with all three things was a dream come true. After Carlos signed a contract extension, him and the foundation decided to increase marketing efforts for Tsunami Waves.
Their previous website was built using Weebly, and they wanted to enhance usability and give the website’s design a better overall look. We were honored to help a foundation promoting such a good cause and continue to work with them to this day.
Our main goal for the new Tsunami Waves website was to promote the foundation's overall message, promote upcoming events, and give website visitors a reason to donate.
DELT was also fortunate to be named a sponsor for the Tsunami Wave Foundation’s annual bowling event and fashion show. There, we got to meet Carlos and take a picture with him (seen below). Also in attendance at the event were other Cardinals’ players like Aledmys Diaz, Jose Martinez, Alex Reyes, and former Cardinal Fernando Tatis (Dude hit two grand slams in one inning.)
The TWF’s website features a store, past and future event information, a gallery, a donation page, and much more. All-in-all, the website is about 25 pages (depending on active and inactive products). The website’s bounce rate has seen a drop and pageviews-per-session has seen a steady rise. The biggest and most important improvement, however, was a significant increase in sales coming from their online store.
To give the Tsunami Waves’ website a completely unique look, we designed completely custom page templates for every page. We wanted to give the website as authentic of a look as possible, but also focus on the important features like their mission and events.
